Global Fair

Between August 7th and October 25th, Incheon's Global Fair and Festival will showcase the city's efforts in becoming an international business hub. New Songdo plans to be the next Singapore or Hong Kong in the near future, and by hosting the Global Fair, it hopes to attract lots of attention to the city. I'm excited to see how the plans turns out.

Damn swine flu. When I entered the fair, I had to walk through the "foreigner" gate, and then this Flugun thing. Apparently this thing had the power to prevent swine flu from getting into the fair. I think it was just water I was sprayed with.
This is the ancient civilizations exhibit. There were lots of old artifacts from China, India, the Mayans and Incas. I found it interesting there was nothing from ancient Greece and Rome.
A really bad parade waltzed through the middle of the fair. It was an international theme, with people from all over the world dressed in stereotypical costumes.
I stayed just long enough to see the Brazilian samba dancers go by. This made it all worthwhile.
Trojan horse.
From the African Tribal Art exhibit.
Steven Spielberg went to Africa to get an idea for E.T.'s appearance.
That's E.T. on the right
The Digital Art exhibit was the coolest part of the fair. I'm not an art guy, but I definitely enjoyed most of the artwork displayed here. It was so digital.

This is my second picture attempt. The sign said "no flash," but I guess mine was still on. I nearly blinded a couple Korean children because of the mistake. Sorry about that.
The Robot exhibit. If I were 15 years younger I would've liked it, but overall it was a huge disappointment.
Grasshopper
There was also a little theme park inside the fair. The viking was easily the best ride around.
This ride spun around and bounced the kids from the top to the bottom with some serious force. I was surprised no one broke their neck.
Inside the Global Cities Pavillion. Some Japanese city showed off their motorcycles.
Representing Los Angeles. No one cared.

The most attractive booth was Yantai China. Never heard of the place.

Lego City was my favorite.

I think this is the Incheon Tower. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Incheon_Tower
